I read the other day how Americans spend $16.8 billion a year on bottled water. Billion. With a "B." Uhh...hello? Could this money
possibly be better spent? Feeding the hungry, repairing bridges, fighting disease, about a thousand other things. And then let's stop complaining about the cost of living, taxes, building libraries and about a thousand other things. At least until that 16.8 billion number is a hell of lot smaller. Ok?
Oh yeah, and there's lots of research now that tap water is just as safe or safer than the bottled stuff. And then the environmental costs - oh boy. As the late, great George Carlin said, "when you're born, you get a ticket to the freak show. When you're born in America, you get a front-row seat."
